@phdthesis{oai:tsukuba.repo.nii.ac.jp:00008372, author = {松岡, 憲知 and Matsuoka, Norikazu}, month = {}, note = {Two kinds of laboratory experiments are performed to examine the mechanism of frost shattering of rocks. One is a freeze-thaw experiment to study the relation of the lithological conditions to the frost shattering rate. The other is an expriment to investigate the physical processes in frost shattering. Forty-seven types of rocks are subjected to repeating freeze-thaw cycles under same temperature and moisture conditions. The frost shattering rate of rock Rv is determined by the reduction of the longitudinal wave velocity of the rock during freeze-thaw cycles. The value of Rv cannot be explained by any rock property including the porosity, the tensile strength and the specific surface area solely. ・・・, 1984}, school = {筑波大学, University of Tsukuba}, title = {Laboratory experiments on frost shattering of rocks}, year = {1985} }
