There are two types of polarized ion sourse, the atomic beam sourse and the Lamb-shift sourse. We have constructed a Lamb-shift polarized ion sourse with a spin filter. This sourse is an effective instrument for producing polarized negative hydrogen and deuterium ion beam. The spin-filter polarization scheme is capable of producing larger vector and tensor polarized deuterium beams than those obtained by other types of polarized ion sourse.
