The purpose is to highlight the importance of understanding nature-culture links for the conservation of coastal heritage sites, exposed to natural conditions, such as sea breeze, sea erosion, and hazards like tsunamis. The Galle Fort is strongly connected to its larger cultural landscape, for which the conservation of the entire ecosystem is required.
