 note = {It is often mentioned that Michael Haneke’s 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance is a critique against the mass media because images of real news broadcasts figure in the film. The purpose of this research is to show that this film is not only a critique of the mass media, but also a critique of audiences who watch news broadcasts produced by the mass media.
