| 内容記述 | 1970年代にアメリカを中心とする英語圏において｢バイオエシックス｣と呼ばれる新しい学問が成立した｡その主たるものは, ｢生命の尊厳(神聖性)｣に代わって｢生命の質｣への考慮を重視し,同じ人間生命の間にも積極的に差異を認めてこれを区別し,さらにこの区別を基にして下される倫理的判断を功利性の原理によって正当化する立場を探っている｡ところが,こうした｢バイオエシックス｣諸理論の構築に当たって使用されている重要概念の多くは,カント哲学のそれと共通している｡カン吊ま｢人間の尊厳｣を強く擁護した哲学者であると-麓に認められている｡そこで本稿は, ｢バイオエシックス｣とカント哲学とに共通する重要概念の用法の比較検討を通して, ｢人間の尊厳｣に関する両者の見解が,表面的な一致にもかかわらず,本質的な点で大きく異なっていることを示す｡ | |||||||

| 内容記述 | In１９７０s a new science called “bioethics” was established in the English-speaking world, chiefly inthe USA. Many of the major researchers in this field have valued the “quality of life” instead of the “sanctity of life,” recognized a distinction between the lives of human beings, and have sought to justify ethical decisions made on the basis of that distinction by the principle of utility. When they construct their theories, however, they use many of the same essential concepts as Kant, who has been acknowledged as a key defender of “human dignity.” Comparing the uses of the key concepts by bioethicists and Kant, this paper aims to show that the bioethicists’ view of “human dignity” is in essence totally different from the Kantian view, in spite of their correspondence on the surface. | |||||||
