A deliberation forum with focus groups of high school students and senior citizens was conducted on the topic of the climate change countermeasures in the ice tradition called omiwatari, in Suwa, Nagano Prefecture. The research focused on the frequency of youth engagement, their attitude toward participation, and their satisfaction with the discussion, Results indicated notably lower participation among female high school students.
